Course Description
This 8 hour in person Defensive Driving program by Fleet Safety 2024 Ltd. Is approved by the Alberta Government for a reduction of 3 demerit points from an Alberta operators license. If you are looking for a comprehensive defensive driving program that is also approved for a demerit reduction, then this is it.
When you come to class, please bring your valid driver’s license. You’ll have a 30-minute lunch—bring lunch or plan to visit nearby options.
Qualification & Certification
Alberta residents can reduce the demerit points on their driver’s license. They are eligible for a 3-point reduction every 2 years.
If you achieve at least 80% on the final exam, you’ll receive a Government Notice of Completion form during the class. Bring this form to any local registry office. The registry will process the 3-point demerit reduction for you.

Course Details & Certification
Course Duration
6 hours minimum as per Alberta Government regulations 8 hours with breaks
Certificate Of Completion
Alberta residents who achieve the required passing mark will receive an Alberta course completion certificate.
Program Testing
Testing conducted in this online Defensive Driving 3 Demerit Reduction Program is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved to qualify for a 3-demerit point reduction from an Alberta operator’s license. If 80% or greater is not achieved, you will be allowed to re-attempt the exam after a 24-hour cooldown period. These secondary attempts are manually issued during business hours only.
