Defensive Driving Course - 3 Demerit Reduction (Alberta Only) (In-person Class)

Take this 8-hour in-person defensive driving course approved by the Alberta Government for a reduction of 3-demerit points from an Alberta operators license.

Learn the SAFER System of defensive driving skills including collision-prevention strategies, handling bad weather, and how managing distractions and driver impairment affects driving.

Score at least 80% to qualify for an Alberta 3-demerit reduction. Alberta residents will receive a Government Notice of Completion by mail within 7 business days. Then take this form and your course completion certificate to a local registry office for processing your demerit reduction. 

When you come to class, please bring your valid driver’s license. You’ll have a 30-minute lunch—bring lunch or plan to visit nearby options. 

If you score at least 80% on the final exam, you’ll receive a Government Notice of Completion form by mail within 7 business days. Bring this form, along with your program certificate, to a local registry office. They’ll help you process your 3-demerit point reduction.
