Trailer Towing Level One

Build practical trailer towing skills with this 4-hour, hands-on Level One training course. Learn essential  towing techniques for hitching, brakes and braking, backing procedures, loading and securing, safe maneuvering, and guide use. Training includes real-world practice with a 2:1 instructor ratio to help drivers develop safer, more confident trailer-handling skills. 

Vehicle and trailer must be supplied by each learner for the hands-on training – typically the use of a company vehicle and work trailer. Training in the vehicle and trailer used for work makes the experience practical and directly applicable to daily driving and towing responsibilities. As training takes place on a gravel track, an SUV or truck is recommended. This practical training takes place at the FSI office in Calgary, Alberta. After successfully completing the course, you’ll receive a certificate of completion, that’s valid for 3 years from the course completion date.
