This is a 6-hour online Defensive Driving course approved by the Alberta Government. It helps Alberta drivers reduce 3 demerit points from their license.
The course teaches important defensive driving skills. These include preventing collisions, managing distractions, handling bad weather, and knowing the causes of different types of crashes. Interactive exercises, videos, and audio help reinforce the learning material.
Qualification & Certification
Alberta residents can reduce the demerit points on their driver’s license. They are eligible for a 3-point reduction every 2 years. Non-Alberta residents can also take it, but they will not qualify to receive the 3 demerit point reduction. They will only receive an online course completion certificate.
If you score at least 80% on the final exam, you will get a Government Notice of Completion form by mail. This will arrive within 7 business days. You can take this form and the program certificate to a local registry office. They will help you process the 3 demerit point reduction.

Course Details & Certification
Course Duration
A minimum of 6 hours, as mandated by Alberta regulations.
Certificate Of Completion
Alberta residents will receive a Government Notice of Completion form by mail within 7 business days. You should take this form and the course completion certificate to a local registry office. This will help you get a 3 demerit point reduction. Non-Alberta residents can instantly download and print a course completion certificate online.
Program Testing
The online course's testing aims to strengthen the presented information. You must achieve a mark of 80% to qualify for an Alberta 3 demerit reduction.
